  1. Renesansowy kościół św. Jerzego? Gotycki kościół pod wezwaniem świętego Bartłomieja?

  2. I figured it out!

I tweaked the image enough to get some of the words and then found this:
    http://books.google.com/books?id=-38_AAAAYAAJ&lpg=PA66

Pr.

Pr. Holland: The extant grave stones in the Evangelical Church are described in detail in the work „Preuss. Holland then and now” by G. Conrad p. 190ff. Regarding the Wilmsdorf Stone listed there, which is artistically far beyond average, it should be added that at the head of the two figure are the the Arms of the families ‚von Wilmsdorf’ and ‚von der Oelsnitz’. This allows the determination of the unnamed parents of the brothers Maurice and Rufus von Wilmsdorf as Hans von Wilmsdorf of Gr. Bestsendorf (d. 1589) and Catherine von der Oelsnitz, a daughter of William vd O. of Gr. Koschlau and Barbara von Kobersehe.

    1597.

The noble, honorable Mauritz and Rufus von Wilmsdorf, brothers, to honor their blessed parents, made this stone, in the year of Christ, 1597.

    • What a valuable input!!!!!!
      thank you!!!

    • if you are interested in the surrounding inscription, it reads:

ICH WEIS DAS MEIN ERLOSER LEB(T) VND ER WIRD
MICH HERNACH AVS DER ERDEN AVFERWECKEN
VND WERDE DARNACH MIT DIESER MEINER HAVT
      UMGEBEN WERD

I know that my Saviour is alive and
that he is going to inspire / awaken me from earth
and be surrounded by my very skin

same source as cited above (book by G. Conrad)

apparently, the tombstone was located on the church floor (below the seats of the candidates for confirmation) and the author remarks, that it would be desirable to place it on the wall for better preservation.

in the same church, the baptismal fond (dated yr. 1596) is also mentioned (being still in place just on the right side of the entrance), and the inscription there reads:

ES SEI DEN DAS JEMANDT GEBOREN WERDE AUS DEM WASSER UND GEIST
KANN ER NICHT IN DAS REICH GOTTES KOMMEN JOHAN AM 3. CAPITEL 1596

      same source as above

basically indicating that if someone is not baptised (in water) and is not growing spiritually, he / she cannot come into the kingdom of god, a remark jesus made , that is cited in the bible (book johannes, chapter 3)

      kind regards,
      Gunter
